Error messages Print

What do these error messages mean?

Error message: "Identifier expected ..." or "property expected"?
This means that there was trouble loading the data-files stored by the program. These errors can occur when you import a feed list, a stable or a horse. The error message indicates that something went wrong when the file was saved, and that the file no longer has a valid format and cannot be opened by the program. Often you can run the program in spite of the error. If PC-Horse freezes, please note the error message, the point at which it occurred, - and contact us by email straight away.

Error message: "We regret this license is invalid and cannot be extended .."
There are some older licenses that cannot be renewed automatically. If you receive this message, please contact us and we'll help you get a working license.

Error. The helpscreen reports one or more errors in horse definitions

starthelp-error

These error warnings remind you that the definition of a stored horse is no longer valid. Typically, a pregnant horse in the program may have remained pregnant beyond the normal length of pregnancy in horses, or a young horse in the program may have become older than 3 years in the time since you last used the PC-Horse program.

Very important: check that your computer has a correct date setting!

When these messages are reported, PC-Horse re-defines the horse category, usually to "maintenance". You are expected to manually correct the situation by making appropriate changes to the horse's definition, then saving it. If you leave a horse definition uncorrected, the error screen will re-appear the next time you start PC-Horse. This will happen even if you have previously ticked for the help screen to not be displayed on start up. We strongly recommend that you correct and re-save any horses reported in the Start help screen. To help you keep track of your corrections, two asterisks (**) are inserted in front of the name of horses that you have made changes to.
